Dylan Conaway, Firearms Conspiracy, West Virginia 2020

A Monongalia County man has been sentenced for his role in a firearms conspiracy. Dylan Conaway, 27, of Morgantown, West Virginia, was sentenced to three years of probation for his involvement in the crime.

According to court documents, Conaway pled guilty in December 2020 to one count of Conspiracy to Violate Federal Firearms Laws. He admitted to working with others to illegally purchase firearms in May 2018 in Monongalia County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher L. Bauer prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives investigated.

Sr. U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the case. Conaway was sentenced in Clarksville, West Virginia on today’s date, though that date has not been provided.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia. The U.S. Attorney’s Office works to protect the citizens of West Virginia from violent crime and other federal offenses.

Conaway’s involvement in the firearms conspiracy is a serious offense and a threat to public safety. His sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the importance of upholding federal firearms laws.
