Muskogee Man Sentenced To 188 Months For Methamphetamine Distribution
A 42-year-old man from McAlester, Oklahoma, is facing the harsh reality of a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of distributing methamphetamine.
Eddie A. Brown, 42, was sentenced to 188 months imprisonment and 5 years supervised release for Distribution of Methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A), according to court documents.
The charge stems from an investigation by the District 18 District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Brown was indicted in September, 2014 and pled guilty in November, 2014, marking the beginning of the end for the McAlester native.
The Indictment alleged that on or about March 20, 2014, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant did knowingly and intentionally distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine (actual), a Schedule II Controlled Substance. This egregious crime has earned Brown a spot behind bars, where he will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over the hearing. Assistant United States Attorney Shannon Henson represented the United States.
