BOSTON – A stunning case of immigration defiance hit Boston’s federal court today as Eddy Antonio Perdomo, a 31-year-old Dominican national, pleaded guilty to unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation.

Perdomo, who was deported from the United States to the Dominican Republic on Oct. 3, 2023, brazenly ignored the order and reentered the country without permission. The brazen move has left authorities shaken.

According to court documents, Perdomo was initially deported after being detected by immigration officials. However, he somehow managed to make his way back into the country, sparking a federal investigation.

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took notice of Perdomo’s actions and launched an investigation, leading to his indictment by a federal grand jury in June 2025. Perdomo was subsequently taken into custody and charged with one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.

Perdomo’s guilty plea comes as a significant blow to the community, with many residents expressing outrage over his actions. ‘This is a clear disregard for our laws and a slap in the face to the hardworking taxpayers who have contributed to our country’s prosperity,’ said a local resident.

Perdomo is scheduled to be sentenced on August 6, 2025, and faces a maximum sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Following his sentencing, he will be subject to deportation upon completion of any sentence imposed.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit, with the support of U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguiler. The investigation was led by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston, with the assistance of U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley.
