A Fort Thompson man has been charged with distributing a controlled substance, according to federal authorities.
Emmanuel Harrison, a/k/a Manny Harrison, age 29, was indicted on April 15, 2014.
The indictment alleges that Harrison knowingly and intentionally distributed methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, at Fort Thompson in October 2013.
Harrison appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on April 23, 2014, and pled not guilty to the Indictment.
The maximum penalty upon conviction is 20 years in custody and/or a $1,000,000 fine, at least 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
Harrison was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial.
The investigation is being conducted by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller is prosecuting the case.
Harrison is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The charge is merely an accusation.
