Guilty Plea in Methamphetamine Distribution Ring

New Orleans, Louisiana – In a shocking turn of events, Eric Rodriguez, 41, has pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine in violation of Title 21 United States Code, Sections 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(A).

According to court documents, Rodriguez was an active participant in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine throughout Jefferson Parish and surrounding areas for over a year. The investigation, led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, revealed a complex network of individuals involved in the distribution of the highly addictive substance.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced the guilty plea on November 30, 2022, stating that Rodriguez faces a minimum term of imprisonment of ten (10) years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life. The fine for the offense is capped at $10,000,000.00, and Rodriguez will be required to pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee per count.

The investigation into Rodriguez’s activities was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Kenner Police Department, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, New Orleans Police Department, and St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
