Tallahassee, FL – Dylan Kelby Rogers, the former postdoctoral scholar from Tallahassee, has admitted guilt in a federal court for distributing and receiving child pornography. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
U.S. Attorney Heekin vowed to hold Rogers accountable for his despicable actions against the most vulnerable. ‘This disgusting defendant will be held accountable,’ Heekin stated, echoing the Trump and Bondi administration’s commitment to protect America’s children from predators like Rogers.
Court documents detail how Rogers reported being extorted online in December 2024. During a federal agent interview, he admitted to viewing child porn and presented the agent with explicit videos on his cell phone. A forensic examination of his device uncovered over 30 illegal videos, along with communications about child pornography with other users.
Rogers now faces up to twenty years in prison and lifelong supervision following his release. The joint investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s HSI led to the charges, which are part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative against child sexual exploitation and abuse.
