A Lindsay, Oklahoma man is accused of playing a key role in the downfall of First National Bank of Lindsay, swindling millions from the failed bank through a complex scheme of fake loans and money laundering. Shaun U. Christian, 57, was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering in a federal indictment unsealed yesterday.
Christian allegedly teamed up with the bank’s ex-president, Danny Seibel, to submit false information on multiple loans, including manipulating bank records to cover up overdrafts and past-due balances. The scheme continued until the bank’s collapse in October 2024.
Christian is also accused of laundering the ill-gotten gains through lavish personal spending.
Seibel, 55, was charged in a separate indictment on December 3, 2025, with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, and other crimes. If convicted, Christian faces up to 30 years in prison for each bank fraud count and up to 10 years for each money laundering count.
