Ex-Cop Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges
Raleigh, NC – Donald Brian Beauchaine, a 40-year-old former police officer from Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina, has pleaded guilty to manufacturing child pornography.
Beauchaine was employed by the Fair Bluff Police Department at the time of the offense. According to the investigation, he secretly videotaped his girlfriend’s minor daughter in the bathroom, admitting to doing so from April 2014 until he was caught on June 4, 2014.
A forensic examination of his cellphone and laptop revealed 12,000 images of child pornography. Beauchaine faced up to 30 years imprisonment at sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled.
The criminal investigation was led by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Lake Waccamaw Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ethan A. Ontjes is handling the prosecution.
The case was part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, a national program aimed at prosecuting child predators. For more information, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
