Two federal inmates, Kajuan Woods and Patrick Alexander, are facing federal charges for possessing homemade knives behind bars in Schuylkill County, PA. Woods, 37, allegedly had a 4-inch metal shank with a cloth handle at the Federal Correction Institution Schuylkill on March 15, 2026. Alexander, 36, had a 6-inch metal shank with a white cord handle just 18 days later on April 3, 2026.
Authorities say both inmates manufactured the deadly contraband while locked up. The FBI and Federal Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Service investigated the cases.
The maximum penalty for each inmate is up to 5 years in prison, followed by supervised release and a hefty fine.
No word yet on when the inmates will face trial or what motives led them to create the homemade knives.
