A ruthless fentanyl kingpin in New Orleans has been put away for good after pleading guilty to a slew of federal charges, including conspiracy to distribute the deadly synthetic opioid.

Deshawn Jones, 44, was busted in November 2024 with 40 grams or more of fentanyl, 28 grams or more of crack, and two guns – a Smith and Wesson revolver and a DPMS Panther Arms semi-automatic pistol.

According to court documents, Jones conspired with others to distribute fentanyl, crack, and cocaine in the Eastern District of Louisiana from a time unknown prior to December 27, 2021, and continuing to November 25, 2024.

Jones faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years up to 40 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000,000, and at least 4 years of supervised release for the drug trafficking charges.
