Tyreek Hall, a 23-year-old Boston man, pleaded guilty to escaping from a residential re-entry center in Boston, where he was serving the remainder of his sentence for being a felon in possession of ammunition. The incident occurred on September 7, 2025, after Hall returned to the center from work and tested positive on a breathalyzer test. Hall refused subsequent tests and was allowed to return to his quarters, but later walked out of the front door and did not return. He was considered an escapee from federal custody until his apprehension.
Hall was originally sentenced to 46 months in prison in May 2024 for illegally possessing ammunition while on parole as a convicted felon. He was transferred to the residential re-entry center in July 2025 to serve the remainder of his sentence.
The escape charge carries a sentence of up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Hall’s sentencing is scheduled for October 15, 2026.
The case was investigated by the Massachusetts State Police and the Boston Police Department, with assistance from the US Marshals. The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts prosecuted the case.
