A Sacramento man with a rap sheet as long as his temper, Gabriel Cabrera, is headed to prison for a long time – eight years to be exact. Cabrera, 23, was sentenced for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Parole agents found the smack and a gun in another resident’s bedroom during a search of Cabrera’s home on March 28, 2025. Phone records revealed a video of Cabrera holding the firearm and messages about his fentanyl sales.
Cabrera’s past convictions include selling controlled substances, beating his spouse, and recklessly discharging a firearm. That’s why he’s not allowed to touch a gun, let alone sell fentanyl.
Cabrera copped a plea on September 9, 2025. The FBI, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento Police Department, and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation all worked together to take him down.
