A Wichita woman was caught with a small fortune in fentanyl pills, enough to kill millions, and now she’s going down for 20 years. Mana Elena Reyes, 51, pleaded guilty to possessing 115,000 fentanyl pills, along with methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl powder, and cocaine, worth a small fortune on the streets.

According to court documents, Reyes was busted after multiple undercover sting operations by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations. Deputies followed her as she drove between Kansas and Oklahoma, eventually pulling her over on a Wichita highway where they found the massive stash.

Reyes’ sentence will serve as a warning to others: the average fentanyl trafficking sentence is just 74 months, but Reyes will do 20 years, more than three times that average.

The US Attorney praised the outcome, saying that illegal drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine are a scourge on communities.

Assistant US Attorney Katie Andrusak prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
