RALEIGH – A federal grand jury in Raleigh has issued indictments charging five aliens, all from Mexico, with Illegal Reentry of a Deported Alien. The suspects are FRANCISCO ACUAPA-MADRIGAL (30), ALEJANDRO GALVAN-GABRIEL (42), JOSE MANUEL MARTINEZ-ORTEGA (37), JORGE SALVADOR-MORALES (35), and JOSE VELASQUEZ-JUAREZ (19).
ACUAPA-MADRIGAL, GALVAN-GABRIEL, MARTINEZ-ORTEGA, and ROBLERO-VASQUEZ face up to two years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and supervised release if convicted of Illegal Reentry. SALVADOR-MORALES, however, faces up to 10 years in prison for illegal reentry after being previously deported following a felony conviction for trafficking marijuana.
The charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The Department of Homeland Security and the United States Department of State are investigating these cases.
