Five men from Washington D.C. have been sentenced to federal prison time for their roles in a drug trafficking ring that sold PCP, crack cocaine, and heroin in Southwest D.C.
The investigation, led by the ATF and MPD, began in 2017 after authorities noticed an increase in drug sales and violent activity in the area around the King Greenleaf Recreation Center. The defendants were indicted in March 2018 and pleaded guilty in May 2018 to charges of distribution and possession with intent to distribute PCP, cocaine, and heroin.
The sentences were handed down by Senior Judge Thomas F. Hogan in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The most recent sentencing took place today, with Jerome Fuller, 33, receiving 63 months in prison for distributing PCP. Other defendants sentenced this week include:
- Kione Banks, 21, who received a 33-month prison term for conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute PCP. He is also awaiting sentencing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland for his role in a string of armed robberies at convenience stores in Prince George’s County.
- Raymond Boston, 27, who received two years in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute PCP.
- Damion Littman, 32, who received 37 months of incarceration for distributing PCP.
- Morriko Washington, 24, who received five years in prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
The investigation also resulted in the indictment of three additional defendants, who are awaiting sentencing. U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Liu, Special Agent in Charge Thomas L. Chittum III, and Chief Peter Newsham commended the work of those who investigated the case and acknowledge the efforts of those who worked on the case from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The area near the King Greenleaf Recreation Center, where the drug sales took place, is located near Nationals Stadium in the 200 block of N Street SW. The investigation uncovered that the drug trafficking activity occurred within a one-block radius of the corner of Half Street SW and Q Street SW.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin L. Rosenberg and William Schurmann, of the Violent Crime and Narcotics Trafficking Section, are investigating and prosecuting the matter. Legal Assistant Katie Cowley also worked on the case from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
