Fleming Island Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Cocaine Distribution
Jacksonville, Florida – In a shocking turn of events, James Matthew Doyle (37, Fleming Island) has pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine, putting his freedom on the line. The guilty plea comes as a result of a lengthy investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
According to court documents, Doyle sold cocaine on two occasions to a confidential source working for the ATF, as well as to an undercover agent in January and February 2023. This brazen move has put Doyle in the crosshairs of federal authorities, who are not messing around.
As a result of his guilty plea, Doyle faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. While a sentencing date has not yet been scheduled, one thing is clear: Doyle’s freedom is all but gone. This should serve as a warning to others who think they can get away with distributing cocaine in our community.
Assistant United States Attorney Brenna Falzetta is leading the prosecution, and it’s clear she’s got her sights set on Doyle. With the evidence mounting against him, it’s only a matter of time before he’s behind bars.
We spoke to a source close to the case, who wished to remain anonymous. “This is a slam dunk,” they said. “Doyle had no chance of getting out of this one. The evidence was too strong, and the ATF did an excellent job of building a case against him.”
