Florida Man Sentenced for Witness Tampering
Seth Stone, a 25-year-old Bushnell, Florida resident, has been handed a sentence for his role in a witness tampering case. On January 13, 2014, U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange delivered the verdict.
According to the court, Stone was sentenced to time served, which totals 45 days, along with 3 years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. The conviction was a result of an incident between June 1, 2012, and July 15, 2012.
During this time, Stone instructed a minor to destroy all electronic records of conversations between the two, aware that an investigation was underway. The conviction was a result of his actions.
The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy R. Morley, who took on the prosecution. Morley led the efforts in ensuring justice was served in this case.
Stone was initially indicted by a federal grand jury on May 15, 2013. He then pleaded guilty on November 18, 2013, marking a significant step towards his conviction.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted the investigation into the case. Their efforts helped bring Stone to justice and secure a conviction.
