A Shreveport man has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $30,000 from an ATM located on bank property, causing over $35,000 worth of damage in the process.
Frederick Charles Davis, 46, of Shreveport, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of bank theft. According to evidence presented at the guilty plea, Davis broke open an automated teller machine (ATM) on July 13, 2012, located at the end of a drive-through lane at a Richland State Bank in Minden, La., and stole $30,320.
He used a power tool and a chain attached to the back of his truck to open the ATM, which caused $35,242 in damage.
Davis faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, forfeiture and restitution.
An October 2, 2014 sentencing date was set.
The FBI conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Allison D. Bushnell is prosecuting the case.
The defendant, Frederick Charles Davis, has been found guilty of stealing from an ATM and damaging the bank property.
Davis will face sentencing on October 2, 2014, and could receive up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
