A federal judge in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has handed down a 10-year prison sentence to a local man convicted of distributing methamphetamine.
Fredrick Green, 47, was sentenced on January 29, 2020, by U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier for his role in a meth distribution conspiracy.
Green was ordered to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund as part of his sentence.
According to federal authorities, Green was involved in a conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, specifically a mixture and substance containing 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The investigation into Green’s activities was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Sioux Falls Area Drug Taskforce.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Mammenga prosecuted the case, which resulted in Green’s guilty plea on November 7, 2019.
Green’s sentencing marked the culmination of a lengthy investigation, which began with an unknown date and continued through January 15, 2019.
Following his sentencing, Green was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
