Mainor Fuentes-Pineda, Possession of a Firearm by an Illegal Alien, Louisiana 2025

New Orleans, LA – A chilling reminder of the stakes in the war against illegal immigration and gun violence: Mainor Fuentes-Pineda, 22, a native of Honduras, was hit with serious charges after cops found him packing heat. Prosecutors say Fuentes-Pineda, an illegal alien, was caught with a Glock Model 42 semi-automatic pistol in Orleans Parish on April 29, 2025.

According to the Department of Justice USAO, if convicted, Fuentes-Pineda could be looking at up to fifteen years behind bars, a quarter million-dollar fine, three years of supervised release, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee. This isn’t just another arrest – it’s part of Operation Take Back America, a sweeping initiative aimed at dismantling cartels and criminal organizations.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson stressed that an indictment is not a conviction; the defendant is innocent until proven guilty. The case is being handled by Special Assistant United States Attorney Frederick W. Veters Jr., who’s leading the prosecution from the General Crimes Unit.

Operation Take Back America, a joint effort between the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood, is taking no prisoners in its mission to protect American communities. Simpson commended Immigration and Customs Enforcement for their role in this investigation.

Fuentes-Pineda’s fate now hangs in the balance as he awaits trial on charges of possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(5).
