A shocking case of child exploitation has come to light in Missouri, with a local man pleading guilty to producing child pornography. Gabriel Trevino, a 35-year-old resident of Franklin County, Missouri, has admitted to creating and distributing explicit content featuring minors.
According to court documents, Trevino’s crimes date back to November 2019, when he stayed at the residence of a woman he was in a relationship with. It was during this time that he set up a hidden camera in the children’s bathroom, capturing intimate moments of the woman’s minor children without their knowledge or consent.
The woman discovered the camera and reported her findings to the authorities, leading to a thorough investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department, the Washington Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Trevino eventually confessed to his crimes, acknowledging that he had recorded the children’s private areas.
The production of child pornography is a serious offense, punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey has scheduled Trevino’s sentencing for January 13, 2021.
