Jesse Roger Armstrong, Child Pornography Distribution, FL 2024

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – Jesse Roger Armstrong, 35, a resident of Gainesville, is staring down a potential 40-year sentence after being indicted on federal child pornography charges.

The grim allegations against Armstrong include one count of distribution of child pornography and another for possession. The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, John P. Heekin, has announced these serious charges.

Scheduled to appear before United States Magistrate Judge Midori Lowry at the federal courthouse in Gainesville on July 29, 2025, Armstrong’s arraignment marks a critical step in this case. If convicted, the defendant will face substantial time behind bars.

This investigation was a joint effort between the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Gainesville Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner is handling the prosecution.

It’s important to note that an indictment is not proof of guilt, and Armstrong is presumed innocent until proven otherwise in court. The case falls under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation.

The Northern District of Florida’s U.S. Attorney’s Office serves as a key litigator under the Department of Justice’s direction. For additional information on this case or others, visit the U.S. Attorney’s Office website.
