Chrisshawn Lamont Mobley, a 32-year-old high-ranking member of the G-Shine Bloods gang, was sentenced to 38 years in prison for conspiring to distribute large quantities of narcotics in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mobley and his co-conspirators were responsible for shipping fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine hydrochloride into the Middle District of North Carolina, where they distributed the drugs around Winston-Salem and surrounding areas. The conspiracy involved over two kilograms of fentanyl and thirty kilograms of methamphetamine. Mobley was sentenced on a date prior to the announcement by the Department of Justice.
Mobley’s sentence is the latest in a series of convictions related to the case. Ten other individuals were charged alongside Mobley, and all but one have been found guilty and sentenced. The co-defendants received sentences ranging from 96 months to 228 months in prison. The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with assistance from the Winston-Salem Police Department and other partner agencies.
The case against the remaining defendant, Eli Oliver Phelps, Jr., is ongoing. United States Attorney Dan Bishop announced the sentencing and thanked the agencies involved in the investigation. The sentences handed down in the case demonstrate the serious consequences for those involved in large-scale narcotics distribution.
The G-Shine Bloods gang has been the target of law enforcement efforts in recent years, with multiple members being arrested and charged with various crimes. The sentencing of Mobley and his co-defendants is a significant blow to the gang’s operations in the Winston-Salem area.
