A 38-year-old Cleveland man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling cocaine base near a protected location in West Virginia.
Genghis Taylor, also known as ‘G,’ pleaded guilty in July 2021 to one count of ‘Distribution of Cocaine Base Within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location.’
Taylor admitted to selling cocaine base, also known as ‘crack,’ near Riverview Towers in Ohio County in May 2020.
According to court documents, Taylor’s actions put the community at risk, and his conviction is a testament to the hard work of law enforcement.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing.
Taylor’s sentence is a significant blow to those involved in the distribution of cocaine base in the area.
