ATLANTA – Christopher Robertson, 42, of Fairburn, Georgia, has landed in hot water after a series of chilling social media posts that targeted Jews and Blacks. The suburban Atlanta man made his first court appearance today before Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas on charges of communicating interstate threats.
Robertson, also known as James Lomak, was nabbed by the FBI following a tense stand-off last Friday. He’s been hit with multiple videos he posted on Facebook, where he threatened to kill Jews and Blacks. His next hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on August 7th.
“The allegations against Robertson are deeply concerning,” said United States Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. “The Department of Justice is committed to protecting our communities from hate-fueled violence, and we will not hesitate to prosecute those who use the internet as a tool for terror.”
FBI Atlanta’s Paul Brown echoed these sentiments, stating that the agency would continue working with law enforcement and community partners to investigate threats against public safety.
According to Hertzberg, Robertson’s menacing behavior began at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta on July 30th. He claimed to be the “official spokesperson for the white race” and made derogatory remarks about Jewish people before being asked to leave. He later visited The Temple, a Midtown Atlanta synagogue, where he ranted about the supposed decline of the white race.
Robertson’s social media activity also raised alarms. He posted a YouTube video singing an antisemitic anthem and a Facebook post featuring him with a loaded gun, discussing “cultural genocide.” Following this, additional law enforcement patrols were added to protect around 80 Jewish facilities in Atlanta. Robertson has been charged for his threats against Black people as well.
