DeMotte Man Sentenced to 130 Months in Prison for Methamphetamine Distribution

HAMMOND, INDIANA

HAMMOND – Gregory Marshall, 55, of DeMotte, Indiana was sentenced to 130 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

According to documents in the case, during the course of the investigation Marshall sold methamphetamine on three separate occasions throughout August and September 2021. The deals took place at his residence, which was eventually searched, resulting in the recovery of additional methamphetamine and marijuana.

Marshall, who pleaded guilty to the crime, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Jon E. DeGuilio to 130 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the assistance of the Schererville Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin F. Wolff.

The investigation and prosecution of this case resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and marijuana, and the disruption of a local drug trafficking operation.

As this case demonstrates, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Schererville Police Department are committed to working together to make our community safer by taking action against those who engage in drug trafficking and other serious crimes.
