A Guatemalan citizen with no right to be in the United States allegedly bashed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in a tense standoff in Williamsport, PA. Marco Antonio Herrera, 35, was found by ICE officers on April 1, 2026, and refused to comply with their investigation, resisting arrest and striking one of them with his elbow.
The ICE investigation, led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, revealed Herrera was in the country illegally. Assistant United States Attorney Geoffrey W. MacArthur is prosecuting the case, which falls under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative targeting cartels, transnational organizations, and violent crime.
Herrera faces up to 8 years in prison and a fine under federal law. The case is ongoing, and Herrera is presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
