Jeremiah Antwon Tyleek Drawhorn, a 23-year-old felon from Columbia, SC, has been indicted for possessing a gun connected to a June 2025 shooting incident. On June 27, 2025, Drawhorn allegedly fired multiple rounds at a group of individuals in the Colony Apartments. When arrested, he had a 9 mm pistol and ammunition in his car, which was recently purchased by his girlfriend. Drawhorn’s prior convictions, including domestic violence and unlawful carrying of a firearm, prohibit him from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Drawhorn’s case is a notable example of the failure of intervention programs to prevent recidivism. He had participated in the Ceasefire program hosted by the City of Columbia Police Department in April 2025, which aims to reduce gun violence by providing community resources to high-risk offenders. Despite this, Drawhorn reoffended, prompting law enforcement to emphasize the likelihood of future prosecution for participants who fail to reform.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Columbia Police Department, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Timmons is prosecuting the case. If convicted, Drawhorn faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and three years of supervision.
Drawhorn is currently detained pending trial, highlighting the seriousness with which law enforcement and the justice system view gun crimes. His case serves as a reminder of the importance of enforcing firearm laws and providing support to individuals at risk of recidivism.
