Silvino Herrera-Munoz, a 34-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, was driving drunk on Interstate 30 in Arkansas when he started shooting at a tractor trailer on February 2, 2025. The wild scene unfolded near Geyer Springs, with Herrera-Munoz speeding up and slowing down, brake checking the truck before firing 5-7 shots out of his driver’s window. A concerned citizen called 911, and an Arkansas State Police Trooper eventually stopped Herrera-Munoz, who had a blood-alcohol content of .12 and reeked of booze.
Herrera-Munoz, who has a history of driving while intoxicated, pleaded guilty to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm on January 12, 2026. His guilty plea came after a federal grand jury indicted him on March 4, 2025. When Troopers searched his vehicle, they found a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber firearm and a spent shell casing on the driver’s floorboard. Two more shell casings were discovered on the interstate, later confirmed to have been fired from the same gun.
On the day of his sentencing, United States District Judge Lee P. Rudofsky handed down a stiff penalty: 102 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. As an illegal alien, Herrera-Munoz’s criminal history and reckless behavior behind the wheel made him a menace to society. His case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative targeting violent crime and illegal activity.
Herrera-Munoz’s sentence serves as a warning to others who would engage in similar behavior.
