Newport News, Va. – Jerome Paul Frostman, 47, a resident of Hampton, Virginia, has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography.

Frostman, who pleaded guilty on August 8, 2016, was caught distributing explicit material via a peer-to-peer network. His downfall came after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence. Frostman confessed to accessing child pornographic content from his laptop, claiming he derived a thrill from the illegal activity.

During an interrogation, Frostman confessed to downloading over 1,000 images of child pornography and revealed that he had sexually assaulted a minor on multiple occasions prior to his arrest.

The announcement was made by Dana J. Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Martin Culbreth, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Megan M. Cowles, who secured a sentence of 16 years.
