Omaha’s District Court witnessed a peculiar case of love turned sour, as contractor Harry Feldman secured a divorce in a bid to secure his naturalization, passport, and ultimately, the reunion of his estranged wife, Raisa, and their two sons, Gabriel and Abraham. Feldman’s journey began in Kalancourtz, Russia, where he married Raisa on January 5, 1908. Their whirlwind romance, filled with dreams of a new life in America, was short-lived. In 1911, Feldman bid farewell to his tearful family, promising Raisa that he would send her enough money to join him as soon as possible.
