Omaha, Nebraska – In a swift move against the drug trade, Juan Diaz-Diaz, 27, of Omaha, has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. The defendant faced justice on February 3, 2023, when Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced him to 87 months’ imprisonment.
Diaz-Diaz’s sentence also includes a mandatory 3-year term of supervised release following his release from prison, as the federal system does not offer parole.
The case against Diaz-Diaz was bolstered by three separate transactions in 2020. Omaha police narcotics officers employed a confidential informant (CI) to purchase methamphetamine from the defendant at various locations within the city. Over these transactions, the CI was able to amass more than half a pound of the drug.
Investigation into Diaz-Diaz’s activities was conducted by the Omaha Police Department, who worked tirelessly to ensure justice was served in this case.
This sentencing serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against methamphetamine in our communities and the commitment of law enforcement to keep neighborhoods safe.
