Heroin Trafficker Sentenced in Morgantown
A Morgantown man has been sentenced to 12 months and 1 day in prison for distributing heroin near West Virginia University. Justin Donald Myers, 37, was found guilty of selling heroin in January 2016 in Monongalia County, which was transported from Michigan.
Myers pled guilty in June 2016 to one count of “Aiding and Abetting Distribution of Heroin within 1,000 feet of a Protected Location.” This conviction is a serious blow to the heroin trade in Morgantown.
The investigation, led by the Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, revealed the severity of Myers’ crimes. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, ensuring that justice was served.
