Heroin Trafficker’s Deadly Deal
Two Metro Denver women are facing serious charges after a deadly heroin deal went sour. Kayla Pagano, 24, and Ariel Nicole Walker, 30, were involved in the distribution of heroin that resulted in the death of a young woman.
According to court documents, Walker and Pagano were involved in a heroin distribution operation that took place in Civic Center Park on May 31, 2018. Walker had arranged to purchase heroin from Pagano, who was being sought by Walker to meet her dealer in Westminster, Colorado.
The two women, along with a third individual, E.N., had agreed to take E.N.’s car to meet Walker’s dealer at 88th and Garrison in Westminster. At a gas station in Westminster, Walker met with Pagano and allegedly purchased heroin. Walker then sold some of the heroin to E.N., who injected it and later passed out.
E.N. died in the backseat of the car after using the heroin. Her body was later found in an alley in Denver. An autopsy and toxicology report confirmed that E.N. died as a result of the toxic effects of heroin.
The Denver Police Department, with support from the FBI, investigated the case and arrested Walker and Pagano. Walker has already pleaded guilty to the charges, while Pagano is still awaiting trial. The defendants are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter McNeilly.
‘The charges against Pagano are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty,’ the court documents state.
