Heroin Trafficking Duo Strikes Deal
ANTOINETTE KELLY, 32, and AMBROSE WILLIAMS, 43, both of New Orleans, have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin.
The duo was among 12 defendants charged in a 23-count indictment on July 25, 2014, in connection with a heroin trafficking organization operating in New Orleans East. According to court documents, the organization was responsible for distributing at least 15 kilograms of heroin in the city.
Agents seized approximately $1,200,000 in assets, including vehicles, currency, jewelry, and real property, from members of the drug trafficking organization, which were acquired with proceeds from the sale of heroin.
KELLY faces up to 20 years imprisonment, while WILLIAMS faces 10 years to life imprisonment. Sentencing is scheduled for March 5, 2015. Trial is set for February 23, 2015, for the seven remaining defendants.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite praised the work of the Drug Enforcement Administration in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney J. Collin Sims is in charge of the prosecution.
