BOSTON – In a tough blow to the 18th Street Gang’s drug operations, Honduran national Elvin Martinez-Flores, 23, has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for dealing fentanyl. The sentencing by U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani comes after Martinez was identified as a sophisticated wholesaler within the gang.
Martinez-Flores, who unlawfully resided in Everett, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to distributing and possessing with intent to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl. His crime spree included selling around 400 pressed fentanyl pills to an undercover witness on September 20, 2024, followed by another sale of 500 pills on October 28, 2024.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley announced the sentence along with Ted E. Docks of the FBI and Bryan DiGirolamo of the ATF. The operation was a collaborative effort involving numerous agencies, including the Massachusetts State Police, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and various local police departments.
This prosecution is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) program, which targets high-level criminal organizations. Additional information about OCDETF can be found at https://www.justice.gov/ocdetf.
