Martinsburg man admits to distributing large quantities of fentanyl and heroin in Berkeley County.

Ian Andre Carr, 49, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Fentanyl and Heroin.’

The crime took place in February 2018, with Carr admitting to distributing the substances in the area.

Carr faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy D. Helman is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government, with the Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigating the matter.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided over the hearing.

Carr’s sentence will be determined by the court at a later date.
