Hugo Silva-Gavina, Illegal Re-entry, Pennsylvania 2013

Grimy Times has learned that Hugo Silva-Gavina, a 37-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to time served for his conviction of illegal re-entry after deportation.

Pittsburgh, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Silva-Gavina, of Mexico, was found to be illegally present in Monaca, Pennsylvania on September 13, 2013.

According to court documents, Silva-Gavina was formally removed from the United States by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on January 23, 2009.

After serving time for his original conviction, Silva-Gavina was re-arrested and brought to justice once again.

United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence, citing the severity of the offense and the need for justice to be served.

U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton commended the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Custom Enforcement for conducting the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Silva-Gavina.

Assistant United States Attorney Paul E. Hull prosecuted this case on behalf of the government, ensuring that justice was served and the rule of law was upheld.
