Pollock, Texas – A Mexican national is facing serious federal charges after being caught living in the U.S. illegally, according to sources from the Department of Justice USAO. Jose de Jesus Pineda-Torres, 43, has been indicted on an immigration violation charge by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas.
The indictment alleges that Pineda-Torres was found in the district on July 11, 2025, having previously been deported three times. This brazen move comes as part of a larger operation to crack down on illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations, Operation Take Back America.
Operation Take Back America is a nationwide initiative that utilizes the Department of Justice’s full resources, including efforts from Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), to combat illegal immigration and protect communities from violent crime. Pineda-Torres now faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.
Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are investigating the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Jackson handling the prosecution. The charges against Pineda-Torres are serious, but it’s important to note that a federal indictment is not evidence of guilt; all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
Community leaders have expressed concern about the rise of illegal immigration and its impact on local resources. Pineda-Torres’ case serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing authorities in their efforts to secure the nation’s borders.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as we uncover more details surrounding Pineda-Torres’ illegal reentry charge and the ongoing investigation into his activities.
