Robert Owen Throgmorton, a 63-year-old North Texas man, was dealt a 30-year federal prison sentence for producing child pornography, using a ten-year-old child as his victim. The grim announcement came from U.S. Attorney Nancy E. Larson of the Northern District of Texas.
The defendant, Robert Owen Throgmorton, faced charges after being indicted in March 2023 and pleaded guilty to production of child pornography in May 2025. United States District Judge Jane Boyle handed down the sentence on August 21, 2025. Following his prison term, he will be under supervised release for an additional 10 years and must register as a sex offender.
Larson emphasized the gravity of Throgmorton’s offense, stating, “This crime shocks the conscience. Our office and law enforcement partners will remain vigilant in bringing predators like the defendant to justice.” FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock echoed this sentiment, highlighting the seriousness of the sentence and the FBI’s commitment to protecting communities from child predators.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between the FBI and the Fate Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Claire Demers and Myria Boehm prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
