Amanda Leigh Fourez, Conspiracy to Create and Distribute Animal Crush Videos, Illinois 2026

A disturbing case of animal cruelty has unfolded in federal court. Amanda Leigh Fourez, 33, of Catlin, Illinois, pleaded guilty to conspiring to create and distribute animal crush videos that show monkeys brutally tortured to death.

The videos, commissioned by Fourez and others, were then distributed online through chat groups via an instant messaging application. Investigators say Fourez sent at least 11 payments to others to commission the sick videos and knowingly distributed them on at least 10 occasions.

A co-conspirator, Joseph Garrett Buckland of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to create and distribute animal crush videos. Fourez faces up to seven years in prison and a $500,000 fine at sentencing on August 27, 2026.
