Travis Howard White, Child Sexual Exploitation, Missouri 2016

Independence, Mo. – Travis Howard White, 24, of Independence, faces a federal indictment for additional charges of child sexual exploitation and producing child pornography, involving five additional victims.

According to the Department of Justice USAO, White was initially charged with producing child pornography and has now been indicted on an 11-count charge by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Mo.

The indictment alleges that White enticed a minor, identified as Minor Victim 1, between February 5, 2016, and March 1, 2017. He is also charged with using the victim to produce child pornography, transferring obscene material, and receiving child pornography over the Internet.

Law enforcement found numerous Facebook messages between White and the minor that included sexually explicit content and instructions from White on how to take photographs and engage in certain activities. The investigation revealed similar interactions with approximately 50 to 100 other females, some of whom were underage.

United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Tom Larson, emphasized that the charges are merely accusations and not proof of guilt. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick D. Daly, and investigated by the FBI as part of Project Safe Childhood.

Project Safe Childhood is a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information on this initiative, please visit www.usdoj.gov/psc.
