ORLANDO, FL – In a stunning verdict, federal prosecutors have secured a conviction against Joshua Keith Davis (53), of Jacksonville, for the monstrous crime of producing, distributing, and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The jury’s decision comes after a rigorous trial that laid bare the defendant’s involvement in one of the most heinous acts imaginable.
Davis was found guilty of five counts of production of CSAM, each carrying a minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison. He also faces a minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years for distribution charges, with an additional 20-year sentence for possession of CSAM. The defendant’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 29, 2025.
According to evidence presented at trial, Davis engaged in the production of graphic material depicting infants between 2011 and 2013. He then distributed this material to several individuals online, a despicable act that put children at further risk. Furthermore, in 2022, Davis was found in possession of additional CSAM.
This case was the result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman and Special Assistant United States Attorney Rachel S. Lyons led the prosecution, ensuring justice for the victims involved.
The conviction comes as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in 2006 to combat the rising tide of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project brings together federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those who prey on children.
