SCRANTON, Pennsylvania – Former Teacher Sentenced for Child Pornography
Jaime Ryan Chorba, a 46-year-old former physical education teacher, has been sentenced for producing child pornography. On October 26, 2022, U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion handed down a 180-month prison sentence for Chorba’s role in creating a video of a minor child engaging in sexually explicit conduct. This disturbing crime was carried out on April 1, 2016, using Chorba’s cell phone.
Chorba, a resident of Archbald, Pennsylvania, worked as a physical education teacher for the Valley View School District from August 30, 2004, through July 26, 2021. His actions have left a dark stain on the community and shed light on the importance of vigilance in protecting our children.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Philadelphia Division and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts prosecuted the case, bringing justice to the victims and holding Chorba accountable for his heinous crime.
