Luzerne County Man Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison for Heroin and Cocaine Trafficking
A former Kingston resident has been sentenced to serve time behind bars for distributing heroin and cocaine in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
According to court documents, James Featherstone, age 34, previously admitted to distributing cocaine and heroin on multiple occasions in Luzerne County between January 2009 and September 2013. He also possessed a firearm in connection with his drug trafficking activities.
The investigation into Featherstone’s activities was carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Pennsylvania State Police, Kingston Police, and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.
Featherstone must serve 175 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He will also pay a $100 special assessment.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa. U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani presided over the sentencing hearing.
