Olive Hill Man Sentenced to 11 Years for Receipt of Child Pornography

Lexington, Ky. – In a disturbing display of depravity, James Keith Wolfe, 55, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his role in the receipt of child pornography.

According to court documents, Wolfe admitted to possessing thousands of images and hundreds of videos containing child pornography, a crime that has shaken the community to its core.

Wolfe’s downfall began in September 2015, when FBI and law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at his Olive Hill residence. During the search, several laptop computers, multiple thumb drives, and two Dell towers were seized, revealing a stash of over 3,800 still images and 670 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Wolfe’s use of a peer-to-peer file sharing network to download child pornography images was the catalyst for the investigation, which was conducted by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Marye prosecuted the case on behalf of the federal government.

U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning handed down the sentence, which also includes a 20-year term of supervised release following the completion of Wolfe’s prison sentence. Under federal law, Wolfe must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of child pornography and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting our children. We hope that this sentence brings closure to the victims and their families and serves as a warning to those who would engage in such heinous crimes.
