Jaquisha Durant, 31, Pleads Guilty to Bank Fraud in Orlando

Jaquisha Durant, a 31-year-old Orlando resident, has pleaded guilty to bank fraud, a serious crime that has left many wondering how she managed to pull off such a daring scheme.

According to the plea agreement, in April 2024, Durant and her accomplices stole mail from United States Postal Service mailboxes, uncovering debit cards belonging to unsuspecting victims. The group then activated the stolen debit cards, using them to make cash withdrawals and purchases at various retail stores.

The scheme came to light on April 22 and 23, 2024, when Durant used the stolen debit cards to make multiple cash withdrawals from a federal credit union ATM located in Ocoee. The sheer audacity of the crime has left many in the community stunned.

Assistant United States Attorney Diane Hu is prosecuting the case, and the United States Postal Inspection Service is being credited with investigating the crime.

A sentencing date has not yet been set for Durant, but she faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison. The severity of the punishment is a stark reminder of the gravity of Durant’s crimes.
