Bath man, Jeffrey Clark, pleads guilty to distributing child pornography, a crime that carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 40 years, and a $500,000 fine.
According to U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr., Clark, 35, of Bath, NY, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa to two counts of distributing child pornography.
Clark was observed by an undercover FBI agent distributing child pornography online. A search warrant was executed at Clark’s residence during which investigators seized thousands of files containing images and videos of child pornography, including violence against young children.
The defendant also admitted to the FBI that he had physically molested a minor victim on several occasions, resulting in separate state charges.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, acting under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 7, 2022, at 11:00 am before Judge Siragusa.
