A federal felon has been arrested for possession of firearms, ammunition, and a machine gun in Puerto Rico. Jeffrey Omar Delgado-López, a convicted felon, was charged with two counts of the crime.
According to the FBI, Delgado-López possessed a Glock pistol model 19 loaded with 31 rounds of ammunition and an additional 42 rounds of 9mm ammunition on June 1, 2025. He also possessed a machinegun, specifically a Glock pistol model 19 modified to fire automatically more than one shot without manually reloading by a single function of the trigger.
The indictment alleges that Delgado-López was in possession of the firearms and machinegun as a convicted felon, which is a federal offense.
The case was investigated by the FBI, with Special Agent in Charge Devin J. Kowalski leading the investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico is prosecuting the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Carlos J. Romo-Aledo and Alberto R. Lopez Rocafort handling the prosecution.
Delgado-López faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison if convicted. An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico and the FBI are committed to fighting gun violence and prosecuting those who violate federal firearms laws.
