OxyContin Trafficking Indictment in Oklahoma

A federal grand jury has indicted Jeremy Dwayne Lavorchek, age 28, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II controlled substances, robbery involving controlled substances, and carjacking.

According to the indictment, on or about December 9, 2015, Lavorchek knowingly and intentionally possessed with intent to distribute Schedule II controlled substances, including OxyContin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Morphine, and Fentanyl. The indictment also alleges that Lavorchek took by force, violence, and intimidation, a motor vehicle from a person and that vehicle, a 2011 Honda Pilot, had been transported, shipped, and received in interstate and foreign commerce.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department. The charges are in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C), punishable by not more than 20 years imprisonment, a fine up to $1,000,000.00 or both; Title 18, United States Code, Section 2118(a), punishable by not more than 20 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000.00 or both and Title 18, United States Code, Section 2119(1), punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000.00 or both.

Lavorchek’s indictment is a result of an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The indictment does not constitute evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent of the charges and may not be found guilty unless evidence establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
